Strategic planning is the managerial process of developing and maintaining a strategic fit between the organization’s goals and resources and its changing marketing opportunities.  Corporate strategy is the overall direction of the organization and consists of the strategy from mission statement to business and marketing plans. The elements of effective strategic planning consists of a shared vision of what the organization wants to achieve and the major gaps (areas of creative tension) between their vision and the current reality.
